Nartanasala won the National Film Award for Second Best Feature Film and the Filmfare Award for Best Film – Telugu. It was also dubbed into Bengali and Odia languages. The film was a commercial success, completing a 100-day run in 19 centers and a 200-day run in two centers. Produced with a budget of ₹4,00,000, Nartanasala was released on 11 October 1963 in 26 centers.
